Boston Walk of History

When it comes to discovering America history, Boston is where you want to be. If you are a history buff in Boston, then do make a point to spend a day taking a walking tour of the famous Freedom Trail. It is the best way to get familiar with the history of the town. It is one of the most visited historic land marks in Boston. The trail has a red brick line along with the sign boards which makes it easily accessible to tourists also.

I would suggest starting your walking tour from the America’s oldest public park, Boston Common. The whole walk of the trail is of about 2.5 mile but not in a loop. There are 16 historic attractions located on the Freedom Trail. So on an average be prepared to walk for around 3 hours if you want to enjoy the trail completely. Although fit people can cover the whole stretch in less than an hour, but the fun lies in strolling and spending some time at each attraction.

There is no admission fee for the trail and the attraction located on it except Paul Revere House, the Old South Meeting House and the Old State House. I would suggest planning a day out there to pick up the map of the trail from The Freedom Trail Information Booth, located in the Boston Common. You can also contact the Greater Boston Convention & Visitors Bureau tel. 888/SEE-BOSTON or 617/536-4100 regarding any information on Freedom Trail as well as travel related queries including shopping, nightlife, historic places, general travel queries like flights to Boston, hotels and more.
